FIFA World Cup 2026

Doha has a confirmed broadcaster, a track record of fan zones, and enough sports bars to cover every time slot. Here's what's available and what's still to be announced.

You don't need a flight to follow the World Cup this summer. If you've already given up looking for a US visa to the FIFA World Cup from Qatar, you're not out of options. Between official broadcasts and fan zones, Doha is preparing its own World Cup experience.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 runs from June 11 to July 19, with 48 teams and 104 matches across 16 venues in the US, Canada, and Mexico. For the first time, seven Arab nations are in the tournament: Qatar, Morocco, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Jordan, and Tunisia, which means there will be no shortage of invested crowds here in Doha, wherever you choose to watch.

One thing worth planning around: Qatar is UTC+3, 7 hours ahead of the US East Coast. Most evening matches in North America (3 PM ET) kick off at 10 PM in Doha — a manageable slot for a match night. The later US games (9 PM ET) push to 4 AM locally. Those will separate the committed fans from everyone else.

How to watch FIFA World Cup 2026 matches from home

The most reliable option is beIN Sports. The broadcaster holds exclusive FIFA World Cup 2026 rights across the entire MENA region, including Qatar, with both Arabic and English commentary available across all 104 matches.

For streaming, beIN has rebranded its platform as TOD by beIN specifically ahead of this tournament. It carries the full World Cup schedule in 4K and HDR, with MultiView functionality (watch multiple matches simultaneously), automatic highlights, and interactive match timelines. It's available on smart TVs, smartphones, tablets, and game consoles.

This is also the cleanest option for a home viewing setup — invite people over, pick your group stage matches, and you have full tournament access without booking, age restrictions, or a minimum spend.

FIFA 2026 fan zones and outdoor venues in Doha

900 Park is the most established public viewing venue in Doha for major football tournaments. The outdoor entertainment district sits next to the InterContinental Doha Beach Hotel on Al Dafna Street. It's also directly accessible from Al Qassar metro station on the Red Line. During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, it hosted large LED-screen match screenings, over 20 food and drink vendors, a kids' entertainment zone, and nightly live events and shows. It repeated the setup for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup. 900 Park is currently temporarily closed. Given its track record and the timing, it's widely expected to reopen ahead of the World Cup — but no formal announcement has been made yet. Check their Instagram for updates as the tournament approaches.

Al Bidda Park and the Corniche hosted the official FIFA Fan Festival during the 2022 World Cup — a 40,000-capacity outdoor space between West Bay and Souq Waqif, accessible via the Corniche and Al Bidda metro stations. The 2026 FIFA Fan Festivals are officially located in the host cities in North America, so no equivalent has been confirmed in Doha. Watch for announcements from Qatar Tourism.

Souq Waqif, Porto Arabia, and Al Maha Island all held outdoor screenings informally in 2022 and are safe bets to do so again. Souq Waqif's open-air coffee shops and restaurants make for a genuinely local match-watching atmosphere — no booking needed, no age restrictions. Porto Arabia's waterfront strip at The Pearl and the restaurant and café terraces at Al Maha Island in Lusail are similarly well-suited to a match evening, particularly for groups and families who want outdoor seating and a relaxed setting. No specific 2026 programming has been announced at any of these locations yet — check with venues directly as the tournament approaches.

Note: None of the outdoor fan zone venues above have confirmed their 2026 World Cup programming at the time of writing. All information on likely setups is based on their 2022 track record.

Where to buy FIFA World Cup 2026 kits in Doha

No official FIFA merchandise store has been announced in Doha for 2026. Adidas and Nike retail stores in Doha's major malls carry current national team kits — expect stock for Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and other Arab nations to build as June approaches. The official FIFA store ships internationally and carries the full 2026 range.

Thinking of flying to the FIFA World Cup 2026 from Doha?

With matches spread across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the FIFA World Cup 2026 could also be the excuse for a last-minute summer trip. From Doha, the easiest route is usually through the US. Qatar Airways operates direct flights to New York, Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, Boston, Seattle, Chicago, Washington DC, and San Francisco. Most flights take around 14–17 hours. Return economy fares during major summer travel periods typically start from around QAR 4,500–7,500, though prices for high-demand match periods can rise significantly.

Flights to Canadian host cities such as Toronto are direct with return economy fares around QAR 6,500, while flights to Vancouver are usually available with connections and fares are around QAR 10,000. Flights to Mexican host cities require a stop in the US or Europe, and return fares are around QAR 9,000.

Before booking, check visa requirements — Qatari passport holders can generally travel visa-free or with an electronic authorization to several destinations, while residents in Qatar may need separate visas depending on nationality.

And before you travel, make sure your travel insurance covers trip cancellations and last-minute disruptions.
