Malls aren't just a shopping stop in Qatar — they're where people go first. Whether you're hunting for holiday gifts, picking up something to bring home to family, or just looking for a full day out with the kids, malls here are built to handle it all in one visit. The scale, the air conditioning, and the sheer range of things under one roof make them worth planning around.
Place Vendôme

Place Vendôme in Lusail is the largest mall in Qatar by floor area, spanning 1,150,000 sq m across four floors. It's built around French classical architecture — colonnaded walkways, a central water canal, and a nightly 3D laser-and-dancing-fountain show that runs on the hour from 7 PM to 11 PM. Vendôme mall restaurants and cafes lining the canal are the best places to watch it.
Shopping. The mall houses 580 stores across high-end and mid-range retail. Global fashion brands sit alongside jewelry boutiques and home goods. The connected five-star hotel — Le Royal Meridien Palais Vendôme — opens directly into the mall.
Electronics. Fnac's flagship Qatar store is here, covering 1,200 m² across electronics, books, gaming, musical instruments, and more. It's one of the better places in Doha to shop for laptops and phones, with demo units available to test before you buy.
Getting there. Take the Lusail Tram from Legtaifiya Metro Station to Lusail Central, which exits directly outside the mall.
Opening hours: Sunday–Wednesday 9 AM–12 AM, Thursday–Saturday 9 AM–1 AM.
Doha Festival City

Doha Festival City (DFC) sits just outside central Doha and spreads over 650,000 m². It's one of the most complete destinations in Qatar for families — the mall combines retail, dining, cinema, gaming, and two full theme parks under one roof.
Entertainment. VOX Cinemas operates the Doha Festival City cinema, which features 18 screens. Virtuocity — the region's first e-gaming hub — has full-motion racing simulators, escape rooms, and a multipurpose sports arena. Angry Birds World is a dedicated indoor theme park based on the game franchise, with a giant catapult marking the entrance. SnowDunes is an indoor snow park — an actual winter environment built in the middle of the desert.
Doha Festival City shops. They include a wide range of international retailers, including Daiso, a Japanese variety store — think household items, stationery, kitchenware, organizers, and seasonal goods, most at fixed low prices. It's a useful stop for everyday essentials and a favorite for gift shopping. Fnac also has a branch here for electronics and books.
Doha Festival City restaurants. They range from Nando's and The Cheesecake Factory to Jamie's Italian and La Durée. The food court covers fast food and quick bites for those moving between activities.
IKEA. Directly connected to DFC via a shared entrance and basement, IKEA operates as its own building but is effectively part of the same complex. The two share parking, making it easy to combine them in a single visit.
Outdoors. A 4.5 km leisure trail surrounds the mall, with 13 features designed for cyclists and runners — unusually practical for a shopping destination.
Opening hours: Sunday–Wednesday 10 AM–10 PM, Thursday–Saturday 10 AM–11 PM. Closes for Friday prayer 11 AM–12:30 PM.
Al Mirqab Mall
Al Mirqab Mall sits on Al Mirqab Al Jadeed Street in one of Doha's oldest and most established neighborhoods. The street itself has a long history as a gathering and promenade spot in the city.
The entrance features a grand musical fountain — reportedly the first of its kind in Qatar — that runs daily shows from 10 am. It's an unexpected detail for a mall of this size.
Entertainment. The mall has more going on than its footprint suggests. FLIK Cinemas screens the latest Hollywood and Bollywood titles in 2D and 3D. Funderdome is an edutainment venue for children. Hangout is an arcade with console games, classic arcade machines, PlayStation, car and flight simulators, escape rooms, and VR. Jump is an indoor trampoline park with foam pits. That's four separate entertainment options in one building.
Shopping. Zara, Bershka, and Emporio Armani are among the fashion retailers. Daiso is also here, making Mirqab one of the more convenient central locations for a Daiso run without going out to the larger malls.
Dining. Al Mirqab Mall restaurants include Al Batteel, Café Concerto, and Abd El Wahab Restaurant — a mix of local favorites and international casual dining.
Opening hours: Saturday–Thursday 10 AM–12 AM, Friday 11:30 AM–12 AM
Mall of Qatar

Located in Al Rayyan, Mall of Qatar is the country's largest mall by retail area at 500,000 sqm. Its centerpiece is the Oasis — a 30-meter high atrium with a 360-degree rotating stage for live shows. KidzMondo is an edutainment park where children run a miniature city with its own economy and currency. XtremeLand has a 7D theatre, trampoline park, and climbing wall. There's also 8-lane bowling and Novo Cinemas. Mall of Qatar restaurants surround the Oasis atrium, ranging from casual chains to mid-range dining. Guests staying at the AlRayyan Hotel Doha, Curio Collection by Hilton — which sits directly adjacent to the mall with a connecting entrance — have immediate access to the entire complex and are within walking distance of Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.
Opening hours: Sunday–Wednesday 10 AM–10 PM, Thursday–Friday 10 AM–12 AM (closes for Friday prayer 11:30 AM–1 PM), and Saturday 10 AM–11 PM.
The Gate Mall

Sitting in West Bay, The Gate Mall is built around premium retail — Canali and Brunello Cucinelli on the fashion side, a Museum of Illusions, Rebound trampoline park, DivaLounge Spa, and a pottery studio. On the dining side, Jones the Grocer, DAWG, and Eatopia are among the options. What makes it particularly convenient for professionals is its location: it's a short walk from the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), making it a natural stop before or after a conference or summit. West Bay Medicare occupies the entire third floor — a full multi-specialty clinic with 24 departments, including surgery, dental, radiology, laboratory, and physiotherapy, all without leaving the building. Barry's Bootcamp is also in the mall for those fitting in a workout between meetings.
Opening hours: Saturday–Thursday 10 AM–10 PM, Friday 1:30 PM–10 PM
Landmark Mall
