All about the 2026 Doha Diamond League, including the date, location, tickets, and schedule.

Wanda Diamond League — the only event where you can view 3000 m steeplechase, javelin throw, and shot put champions live on the same day! Originally announced for May, this one-day competition that’s part of a 15-round League was postponed to June 19 and will now be held in the air-conditioned Khalifa International Stadium. This will be the 16th time Doha has hosted the Wanda Diamond League, featuring 14 track and field events. Here’s all you need to know about where to buy tickets, pricing tiers, how to reach the stadium, and who you can expect to see this year.

What is the Doha Diamond League?

The Doha Diamond League, sponsored by the Wanda Group, is an international tour in which the best athletes compete in 15 one-day competitions around the world. The 2026 league is its 17th edition and is hosted in the following cities: Shanghai, Xiamen, Rabat, Rome, Stockholm, Doha, Paris, Eugene, Oslo, London, Monaco, Zurich, Lausanne, Silesia, and Brussels.

The finals in Brussels will take place on September 4 and 5. The Doha Diamond League, specifically, is organized by the Qatar Athletics Federation and World Athletics and will be held on June 19.

Each one-day competition awards 8–1 points to 1st–8th place athletes, and the top 8 in sprints and the top 6 in field events are invited to participate in the final. The prize pool is $9.24 million, evenly divided among all male and female winners. Winners in Doha's regular events can earn between $10,000 and $20,000 per discipline.

The 2026 Wanda Diamond League is expected to break more records and showcase pure human potential. In 2025 alone, the league set three world records, two world bests, and 43 world leads.

Khalifa International Stadium: Transportation and things to do

The new venue, Khalifa International Stadium, is a subset of the bigger Aspire Zone. It was the host of the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships and has state-of-the-art cooling technology, which makes it a better option for summer.

The stadium is situated in the Aspire Zone, Al Waab, and is easily accessible by car or taxi via Al Waab Street. It’s connected to the rest of the city via a Gold Metro line, and the station is called Sport City.

During your breaks, you can visit:

  • 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum: The museum is one of the most high-tech sports museums in the entire world and is situated directly next to the stadium, providing an interactive experience in the history and future of sports

  • Aspire Park: The biggest park in Doha, directly adjacent to the stadium. It is an ideal place to have a picnic pre-event or a leisurely post-event walk. The park features a lake, playgrounds, and walking paths

  • Villaggio Mall: This Venice-themed mall has numerous dining and shopping choices, along with entertainment such as an indoor theme park and an Olympic-sized ice-skating rink
