QPO Presents: Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 in Doha

Conductor Enrique Diemecke leads the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, joined by pianist Jae Hong Park (winner of the 2021 Busoni International Piano Competition, one of the most prestigious prizes in the piano world), for Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1, one of the most famous opening themes in all of music, followed by a work of sweeping drama and virtuosity. After the interval, Diemecke turns to Manfred, a dark, brooding symphony inspired by Byron's tale of a tormented wanderer haunted by his past, and one of Tchaikovsky's most powerful, cinematic scores.
